The Argyle Theatre is pleased to announce the next edition in its Broadway Concert Series with BROADWAY BLOCKBUSTERS which will showcase the talents of five of Broadway’s finest vocalists. Created exclusively for our venue by New York Casting Director and Producer Stephen DeAngelis, the cast will recreate their most memorable musical moments and career highlights as well as demonstrate their versatility, share backstage behind-the-scenes anecdotes and participate in an enlightening and entertaining question-and-answer session with our audience. The event will take place on Sunday, January 21st.

Scheduled artists are Drama Desk Award winner Samantha Pauly (Katherine Howard in the Original Broadway Cast of Six The Musical), Diane Phelan (Cinderella in the Broadway revival of Into the Woods; The King and I; School of Rock), Nic Rouleau (longest running Elder Price in The Book of Mormon), Drama Desk Award nominee Evan Ruggiero (Bastard Jones) and Josh Tower (Aaron Burr in Hamilton; Berry Gordy in Motown the Musical; Simba in The Lion King; School of Rock; Ragtime). Musical Director/Accompanist will once again be Asher Denburg . Musical selections will include the best of classic and contemporary musical theatre. SAMANTHA PAULY

made her Broadway debut starring as Katherine Howard in SIX. She had been with that production since it premiered at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre where she received the Joseph Jefferson Award for her performance. She recently made her West End debut as Eva Peron in Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s critically acclaimed revival of Evita (Evening Standard Theatre Award; WhatsOnStage Award). NIC ROULEAU

returned to New York having played the role of Cornelius in the National Tour of Hello Dolly! with Betty Buckley. Prior to that, completed a 6 ½ year run as Elder Price in The Book of Mormon. He is the longest running Elder Price, having starred in the show on Broadway, in Chicago and in the West End in London. Television credits include Daddy’s Boy in Tina Fey’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (Netflix) and the 2012 Tony Awards (CBS). Other credits include Emmett in Legally Blonde (US National Tour) and Woody in Toy Story: The Musical (Disney). Regional: Les Miserables (Marius); A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Hero); Cabaret (Cliff); Changing Times (Reese). Education: Bachelor’s of Music Degree, NYU Steinhardt.

EVAN RUGGIERO

began dancing at the age of five in his hometown studio and by age ten, he was accepted into the famed New Jersey Tap Ensemble. Upon entering his sophomore year at Montclair State University while pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre, Evan was suddenly diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer of the right leg. Enduring nine surgeries in a six-month period in an effort to save the leg, the cancer returned more aggressively than the original diagnosis. He was faced with the ultimate decision of amputation in order to stop the cancer and save his life, as well as undergoing chemotherapy for sixteen months. Eighteen months after the amputation, and only two days after receiving his “peg-leg”, Evan was tapdancing again. In 2018 he received a Drama Desk Nomination for Best Actor in a Musical, a Chita Rivera Award Nomination for Best Dancer in a Musical and was awarded a Clive Barnes Award in Theatre for his portrayal of Tom Jones in NYC’s Off-Broadway hit Bastard Jones. Evan has been seen performing at Carnegie Hall and at the 90th Academy Awards as well as performing for many notable individuals such as Ellen Degeneres, President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Egypt’s sixth and current president, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and most recently performing alongside two-time Grammy winning artist, Jason Mraz. recently returned to New York after starring as Aaron Burr in the National Company of Hamilton. (Producer/Host)has produced over 300 different Broadway concerts at venues in New York and across the United States featuring a multitude of Broadway stars including many Tony Award and Drama Desk Award winners and nominees, stars from hit television series and films whose roots are on stage and Broadway's fastest rising young performers. Throughout his career, he has worked with over 100,000 performers across all entertainment mediums. He is also the Producing Artistic Director and Host of At This Performance... , the critically acclaimed concert series that has showcased the talents of over 1200 Broadway Standbys, Understudies and Alternates since October 2003. His work as a Producer of the ongoing series was acknowledged in BroadwayWorld's List of "Best Club, Cabaret and Concert for 2021". He has cast over 3600 network television and radio commercials for Manhattan's leading advertising agencies and has contributed to many historic and award-winning spots and campaigns including many which have been recognized with Platinum, Gold and Silver Lions at Cannes. Stephen also cast the six-time Emmy Award nominated Playhouse Disney series “Johnny and the Sprites” which was seen on the Disney Channel. His work has been seen in New York and regionally in over 300 theatrical productions for companies as well as numerous festival showcases, developmental workshops and readings. Stephen is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and has staged musicals in major theatres across the country in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Dallas and St. Louis and throughout New York and New England. Stephen is the Producing Artistic Director of the new Pocono Center for the Arts which is scheduled to open in early 2024.
